JOJOBA PRUNING MACHINE PJ-2000
INTRODUCTION:
Jojoba bushes,
young or mature, have branches which stretch clear to the ground. In
order to allow efficient and clean harvesting, skirting pruning is essential
for easy access. Furthermore, in order to get maximum yield from a given area,
rows are planted relatively close together, and once bushes are mature hedging
is required for access and sunlight penetration.
The pruning machine PJ-2000, with its floating
adjustable pruning mechanism, follows the terrain, picks up branches lying on
the ground, and cuts them in the preset angle position required, close to the
trunks with no damage from the ground to the cutting head itself.
Revolving saws at high speed and the revolving
head with the two saws mounted on it, insure clean cuts and avoid brush
clogging in front of machine.
The cutting position can be set from 45° skirting to
vertical hedging. The cutting head is mounted on the front of the tractor to
the right, allowing the operator good visibility and control during pruning and
maneuvering. Cutting capacity is not limited since the cutting is performed by
two 24” diameter saw discs, which make clean cuts whether on twigs or
heavy wood.
The forward speed of the machine is not limited by the
cutting, but by the terrain conditions and to allow operator time to
control cutting close to trunks to avoid damage.
